PRAYER NEEDS

Current items for prayer concerning the people of Malaumanda:

Though a solid church has been established, they still need a great amount of teaching in order to be grounded in the Word. Pray as ongoing teaching progresses.

* Barney Enns, Eric Hedeen and Mike Measley need sensitivity, wisdom and insight from the Lord to know how to meet the needs of the tribal believers. Sometimes it is difficult to determine what would be the best mode of operation for the tribal believers. (i.e. When to prod the tribal believers into action and when to stand back and allow them to wrestle with issues).

* Pray that as the believers mature in the Lord they will learn to take initiative to carry on the ministry. Being dependent on the missionaries is a predominant feeling among the tribal believers. It is something they will need to be free from in order for the church to function in an indigenous fashion in the years to come.

* The need to develop good readers of the tribal language is a must for the future of the church at Malaumanda. Pray that the team will be able to develop the necessary literacy materials to enable this to happen.

* Translation of Mark and Genesis is underway. Pray for the team as they seek to develop the necessary terminology that will carry the greatest meaning in the tribal language. This is no easy task.

* Health issues are always a concern for both the tribal people and the missionaries.
