Prayer Letter Archive

July 10, 2004

Here is an update on Grant as many of you have been asking about and praying for him. Thank you for your continued prayers and concern for him and the rest of our family. We are so grateful.

Grant has just finished the meds his doctors prescribed and we are waiting to see how he reacts to his environment. His asthma drugs were changed and increased, along with his allergy medicines. Since test results showed Grant is resistant to certain drugs to treat his chest infections, we now know of some different ones we can use.

What we are still waiting to get to the bottom of are the tests concerning his immune system. They are still forthcoming. He is to have more blood tests done in 5 weeks and we are hoping they can be done here in PNG and sent to Australia. Then Grant and I will have to return to Australia in October for a doctor/tests follow-up. We are not out of the woods yet and are still waiting on some answers ourselves.

Please continue to pray Grant stays healthy. He has not coughed for 2 weeks-a very unusual thing in our household! He is doing very well and we are so thankful! It is absolutely wonderful to see! He is even playing sports again! He acts different, is eating more and smiling more!

After getting back from Australia we have been busy making repairs and improvements on the dorm. It was hectic in Australia with all the medical tests and Jeff's surgery and we are enjoying the slower pace here. We are getting in treasured family time and enjoying drawn out meal times with lots of talking.

Thank you again for your love and prayers. We will keep you updated. We can not do this without you!
