July 2003

Hello!

We are gearing up again for the start of the school year. Classes begin on July 30th. We'll start to get kids on the 29th. We have lost two for the dorm next year as their parents will be moving here to the school/HQ center to care for some family needs. Not a problem though, because we'll still have plenty to fill our schedules with the other 8 kids in the dorm. I'm seeking the Lord's wisdom on how to cut back on some of my responsibilities anyway. My duties as a dorm parent, dorm coordinator, teaching the 11-12 grade Bible class and overseeing some administrative areas of the school keep me hopping and juggling time on a regular basis.

We have enjoyed the somewhat casual summer break. We've done a few maintenance projects on the dorm and the kids have been able to get some experience at some of that labor. We have also enjoyed spending time with some families on the center that time constraints do not permit over the school year. One set of new dorm parents has arrived and are settled. The other set will arrive in about a week. Pray they can both be organized and mentally prepared for the beginning of the school/dorm year.

Praise the Lord we have had good health over the last few months. Jordan had a run in with a soccer goal a few days ago and required 13 stitches in his head and Grant has been having some chest/breathing problems but nothing that has required ANOTHER (!!) trip to Australia. My shoulder is doing well. I'm back to normal activities and sports. We are grateful for the Lord's care and protection.

I've had several opportunities to challenge folks with the work as several groups of college kids have come through. On multiple occasions and in various sessions I've shared about the dorm ministry, our years in the tribe and many general tidbits of information for them to digest and process. I'm grateful for the opportunities the Lords send my way. I enjoy challenging others and the Lord has seen fit to provide that opportunity.

Thanks for being such an important part of our lives and ministry. Your prayers are our fuel.

Take care,

Jeff
