Grant, Joy, Jordan, Lindsay and Jeff - Easter 06

Family Treasure

This month we will pack up our things in McKeesport and head to New tribes Bible Institute (NTBI) in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Our furlough year has been turbulent in many ways but assuring in many others. During this time of decision some have questioned our motives and we have lost some financial supporters over the fact that we are not going back to Papua New Guinea right away. A bit puzzled at the response of some we still feel confident that this move, enabling a stable future for our family for the next 18-24 months, is the best option for us. We'll only have this "season of transition" in our family one time and we want to honor the Lord in it. Brushing off it's importance and priority would be negligent on our part.

We are grateful that the opportunity for us to be Dean of Married Students at NTBI has been open to us at this time. We are trusting the Lord to use our hearts for reaching tribal people and our experience from the field to aid in the training of future missionaries. Reuniting with Jordan in Wisconsin will be an additional perk!

Word In Hand

This month Barney Enns will be delivering 70 copies of the book of Genesis as well as the first eight chapters of Acts to Malaumanda where it will be made available for distribution among the believers. This is the first stage of getting the Word of God written in the Malaumanda language to the tribal church. As future material gets translated, it too will be made available for distribution. This will occur many times over until the entire New Testament can be printed and bound into one volume.

In conjunction with this, new literacy classes are going to be started. Hopefully an eagerness to read the translated portions of the Bible will motivate many to take the class and increase their reading skills.

Prayer Needs

  • Safety as we move June 30th to Waukesha, WI.
  • Smooth transitions for Jeff & Joy in their new ministry duties and for Grant & Lindsay as they adjust to another new school.
  • Praise the Lord for His supplying of our needs this year amid lowering support levels. We pray for continued provision.
  • Jordan finished the semester well at NTBI and plans to work all summer for Fall school fees.
