Current Prayer Letter

April 2004

Happy Easter! May the Lord's sacrifice impact us to remind us as believers once again of why we are what we are.

I want to thank you for praying with us regarding our intention to return Stateside this summer. We have run into a few snags in the details we've uncovered in our planning process. Enough so, that we have concluded that it would be best for us to remain on this side of the world this summer. We'll set our sights on next summer as it will be a given that we'll be returning. Jordan will graduate and we are due for furlough. All in all we are settled in the Lord regarding the decision and continue to look to Him for direction in future plans.

As a result of this, we are rescheduling some medical appointments that we had tentatively planned on in the going and returning legs of our planned trip to the States. We'll still get Grant to an Allergist/Pulmonologist and I will still have surgery on my left shoulder. We'll just do both in conjunction during a trip to Australia in June.

The school term is moving along well. It is a busy one with many year-end events scheduled. We'll be getting over one thing and gearing up for another all the way to graduation!

Grant is feeling back to normal after missing the last two weeks of the term. It is always so good seeing his personality return after these bouts of bad health subside. I will be getting the cast off my ankle tomorrow. I'm looking forward to some rehab to where I can have movement again. Thanks for praying about these issues with us.

I'd appreciate your prayers over the next few days. We are presently at a critical point in needing to make some decisions regarding the dorms for next year. We have 32 kids requesting space in the boarding home program but need another set of dorm parents to accommodate that need. It appears that we are going to have to turn away some kids/families. We'll need insight from the Lord as we work through that process. This area, once again, stresses the urgent need for more personnel on the mission field to fully accomplish what we desire. Having some kids turned away from the dorms will have an impact on the families represented and the tribal ministries in which they are involved.

I appreciate your continued interest in our ministry here in PNG. Thanks so much! Have a great week.
