Transition Ahead
Imagine soon being 18 years old. Because of your skin color and cultural
background you are an alien in the country that you call "home." But at the
same time, because you are so unfamiliar with the home country of your
passport, it causes you to feel like an outsider there. Though easily old
enough and capable enough, you do not have your driver's license for an
automobile and you've never had a real job. Checkbooks, credit cards,
mobile phones, and even malls are oddities not a part of your daily life.
This is the unique predicament of an MK (Missionary Kid).

Jordan the day he got his motorcycle license. Circumstances have prevented him from getting a drivers license like many peers back in the USA.

Our son Jordan is finishing up his junior year. And as he looks toward
graduation he knows there is going to be a lot of adjustment in getting
settled Stateside. He is doing well and is excited for the future, but some
major transitions are going to be occurring over the next 18 months. Pray
for him and many decisions that he will need to make in the coming months.
Cast Away!

While playing basketball March 8th Jeff severely rolled his right ankle.
Two sets of x-rays have not exposed any break, however continuing pain and
swelling has led doctors to believe that a stress fracture may still be a
possibility with some severe ligament damage. Obviously this has hampered
Jeff in many of the activities he enjoys as well as some family plans that
were in place over the school break.
By the time you read this hopefully the cast on his ankle will have been
taken off. Pray for quick and proper healing of his ankle and that he'll
be able to resume normal activity as soon as possible. Until then, a new
walking cast is what he is using to get around. Pray for Joy too! - Is
there anything worse than a convalescing male? |
Prayer requests:
- Pray for Jordan over the next year as he considers and prepares for his
future. Issues of concern are post high school education and the necessary
adjustments to life back in the USA.
- Pray that Jeff's ankle will heal quickly and properly.
- There are many vital ministries in PNG that are left unattended because of
lack of personnel. Pray for more laborers.
