Prayer Letter Archive

February 2006

Gone from the nest

A goodbye hug from Mom

Mid January we took our son Jordan to New Tribes Bible School in Waukesha, Wisconsin. There he is enrolled in a two year Bible program that is designed to provide a solid foundation in essential Bible themes with a missions emphasis. He is acquainted with several of the staff members who were once involved in the ministry with us in Papua New Guinea. as well as some of the students. Classes are underway and, at this writing, he is enjoying them!

Our prayer is that this step toward independence will be one of growth and maturity in his life, as well as confirming what direction the Lord has for him in the future.

The Dawn of New Life! Tribes getting the message

These are exciting days in Papua New Guinea. Many tribes are being exposed to the truth of God's word. Never before has there been so many tribes teaching or preparing lessons for the Gospel presentation.

Each name represents a different tribe and a different language hearing the message of salvation in Christ for the very first time in that area! Recently completed teaching- with new believers:

  • Hewa (HAY-wah)
  • Mengen
  • Wuzarambya (WOO-zah-RHAMB-ya)
  • Kuman (KOO-mahn)

Teaching is in progress:

  • Bena Bena (BEN-ah BEN-ah)
  • Kafe (KAH-fay)
  • Mibu (MEE-boo)
  • Sinou (SEE-know)
  • Kol
  • Moi (Moy)

Preparing lessons & Scriptures to teach:

  • Tobo (TOE-bo)
  • Mariama (MAH-dee-Ah-mah)

In many other tribes missionaries are learning language, discipling believers, translating scripture, teaching literacy and training leaders. Pray for all these tribal church planting endeavors as the Lord builds His church.
