Prayer Letter Archive

Hello! Our term in the dorm has been extremely time consuming the last 6 weeks. Several issues surfaced that involved our attention. Some involved families of children in our dorm, some involved issues in the school and another regarding the desperate need for another couple to serve with us as dorm parents next year. Most of these areas are still ongoing and decisions are pending even as I write this message. As we deal with these issues along with our other duties that we have in this work we ask for your prayers. It is our desire to gently work through the situations that arise knowing that our decisions affect the lives of many others. We carry a heavy load of responsibility that extends into the lives of missionary families and consequently many tribes here in Papua New Guinea.

Our family is doing well. I've enjoyed coaching both Jordan & Grant the past six weeks on the varsity basketball team. The team has been practicing hard and our season will culminate this week in a tournament that will involve all the schools in the province. Pray for safety as we travel to this tournament and that our teams will maintain a good testimony as they will be around many Papua New Guineans that are unsaved and unchurched.

Over the next few months I will be involved helping to develop an outreach program for the kids in our mission school. Some aspects may be sports related, some involved with some local churches in town. Pray as we formulate ideas to meet this need among our teenage Missionary Kids to reach out to others in the area.

We are making plans to return Stateside this summer. Some appointments for Grant to see an allergist and a pulmonologist have surfaced in nearby Cairns, Australia. We will get Grant taken care of there, then take off Stateside to visit parents and expose Jordan to some areas he'll need next year after he graduates. We hope to be Stateside for about four weeks including travel time. Upon our return I'm going to schedule a time for surgery on my left shoulder. After surgery we will return to PNG for the start of the school year. Lots of details to work out but it is nice to have a clear objective in mind. Pray with us for the remaining finances needed and that we could find the best routing and airfare to accommodate our needs.
