Evangelism!

Jeff teaching principles of evangelism in chapel at NTBI

In July it was decided that, along with our responsibilities with the married students in the deans department here at New Tribes Bible Institute, Jeff should also take over the evangelism program. The goal in this was to revamp the program to more effectively reach the goal of training future missionaries. Evangelism is certainly a part of a productive missionary ministry. It was also felt that better equipping our students for witnessing in the community was necessary. Joy has assisted Jeff in some of these areas by arranging options for students to plug into different ministries that will provide witnessing opportunities. Jeff has taught an evangelism class and will teach another one in February. He also has been busy coordinating a weekly chapel to teach about witnessing and explain new details regarding the school wide witnessing program. For many students this has been their first exposure to an actual witnessing program with structure and requirements. With 220 students out witnessing the potential for impact in the surrounding communities is great.

As we seek to get the program running smoothly we are encouraged with the stories we hear about students out talking with people about the Lord and seeking opportunities to share the Gospel.

Prayer Needs

  • Pray for the student body of NTBI as they will be regularly witnessing in the community.
  • Pray for the ability to discern the priority areas of our ministry to assure we are doing all we can do in our roles here at NTBI.
  • We have a number of decisions regarding our future that need to be worked out. We are praying for clear direction from the Lord.
  • Jordan, Grant & Lindsay are all doing well and learning in the different stages of life they find themselves in. Pray they will continue to grow and respond to the Lord’s prompting.

Christmas...who knows?

From the Ryder home to you...Merry Christmas!

We are so grateful for all of you who stay informed, pray and give to enable us to continue our ministry. In an age when our own culture seems to have lost sight of what this season represents, our hearts still go out to the many people groups in the world today who do not understand the meaning of the Christmas season. From the manger to the cross—may this message ring clear. Thank you for your interest in this cause.

FAQs

What did you do for Christmas while living in the tribe?

We celebrated Christmas with as much tradition as we could. We had a tree, some lights (at night when the generator was on), Christmas music and presents under the tree.
