Prayer Letter ArchiveDecember 2006Timely Talks
Our thanks to the many of you who have been praying for our ministry here at the mission training center. As we are learning to tailor fit our role in working with the married students we are also very much aware that the job is much bigger than us. Not only because our involvement here will influence the reach of the Gospel message in years to come but also in the fact that we ourselves feel incapable of accomplishing all that we feel should be accomplished with the students. We spend a great portion of our time talking with the students. The more we talk the more we understand backgrounds, influences and struggles in the lives of the students. The more we know, the more we want to help. The more help needed, the more overwhelmed and incapable we feel. In this age of broken families, dysfunctional homes and extreme societal pressures one might ask, “Where do we begin? The needs are so great!” However, we are reminded that the Lord is in the business of taking broken lives, repairing them and making them useful vessels. And, that He uses the weak of this world to confound the wise. This certainly applies to future missionaries as well. The Lord seeks to use the unlikely to accomplish His plan for the age. Please pray that the Lord will use us in this role to permit timely comments, loving words of exhortation and insightful recommendations in the many hours we spend exploring, encouraging and counseling the lives of the college students with whom we interact. Joy to the World…
