December 2004

Happy Holidays! Best wishes from our house to yours.

The Ryder family at our door in PNG. Temperature at photo time - 80 degrees Fahrenheit !!!

Our warmest greetings to you in this holiday season. We wish we could drop by, armed with a plate of Christmas cookies, to bear these wishes personally. Our heart's desire is that this Christmas will be your most memorable and meaningful and that the love from Christmas will be extended to you and from you throughout this wonderful season.

As a mission school that is located on a fairly large missionary center, dynamics are quite different than the average Christian School. The administration has to wrestle with some issues of amazing complexity, therefore, multiple minds working together are of great benefit. Because of this, the BOM functions to provide direction regarding the weekly operations of the school. As Dorm Coordinator for Numonohi Christian Academy, Jeff, is a member of the BOM. Several hours each week are spent collectively to provide this needed service to the school and mission as a whole.

Prayer Needs

  • We are now less than 6 months from furlough. Over the next few months we'll be determining what our future holds beyond the furlough year. We have several options to choose from. Pray we'll be able to discern the Lord's clear direction.
  • Jordan is still unsure as to what direction his life should take after graduation in May. He too, desires the Lord's will. Several possibilities are in the mix of options.
  • Jeff and Joy are taking on new duties regularly. Some are connected with the school others have field-wide implications. Pray for stamina and wisdom in tasks while being careful not to take on too much.
  • Our ministry permits us a lot of exposure to the lives of our fellow missionaries and their children. We have great occasion to encourage and exhort. Pray we will make the most of these opportunities.
