Prayer Letter ArchiveNovember 2004A Good Report
Grant & Joy spent a portion of the school break in Cairns, Australia. The purpose of the trip was for another check up with the specialist regarding Grant's health issues. Grant has been doing great the last 6 weeks and the doctor (who saw him last in the middle of one of his bouts) was pleased to see him functioning normally. Though one test regarding Grant's immune system had less than desirable conclusions there were some encouraging signs. A plan for the next 7 months was formulated and medication noted should Grant get ill again. Perhaps the most exciting thing is to see Grant functioning at 100% again. For the last month and a half he has been as active as he has wanted to be. After being down so regularly it has even been a joy to observe the typical bantering that occurs between him and Jordan. Nerve wracking at one time as normal behavior between siblings is now almost enjoyable! How's that for a twist!!! Thanks for praying. The school here has not had any outbreaks of virus or flu bugs that normally affect Grant so his immune system has not been tested. Let's pray this good health will continue and that his body will continue to mend towards functioning normally. Joy... What's she doin' these days anyway?
You can take the Mom out of the dorm but the activity similar to a dorm is still a big part of Joy's life. Though not being a dorm Mom has freed up Joy in one sense it has made her just as busy in another. She spends more time with her Discipleship Group (12th grade girls) and is able to spend greater amounts of time encouraging and fellowshipping with other missionaries on our center. Often times she is out and about, busily going from place to place on this center seeking to be a blessing in any way she can. Though she doesn't't have an official title she functions in an important role. Basically, her name defines what she is. Prayer Needs
