Prayer Letter ArchiveNovember 2003 Greetings! We have just finished up a very busy time and have a short lull before another one starts. Last weekend we had our annual SEW (Spiritual Emphasis Weekend) here at the school. The entire high school student body goes off to another piece of property near here that is very much like a camp ground. It was a time of Bible sessions, music, fun and games. I was involved in organizing the event. It went very well and the kids have testified to the Lord working on their hearts. With that event all over, I've now shifted some energy to arranging a youth fellowship for the end of the month. We will be hosting and invitational sports tournament for boys soccer and girls basketball. We have invited two other international schools to come a day early for an athlete/youth fellowship overnight. My goal in this is to get the kids together aside from the competition on the field for some fellowship. We'll have some games and a time of singing and someone will speak to them. Pray that the Lord will use this time to bond these kids together more but also challenge them spiritually as well. Our family is doing well. Grant sprained his ankle severely during the school break and is finally healthy and off crutches. Jordan just got over a rough attack of Malaria and Lindsay is back to normal activity following her appendectomy. Joy had a rough go at the first of last month as her back and hip were abnormally painful. Praise the Lord, though, we are all healthy at this time. Our dorm is functioning well. As the typical process goes, in the the first term the chemistry of the dorm is still in an adjustment mode. Now in the second term we are feeling a bit more comfortable with each other. It's a privilege to have this special window of opportunity into the lives of these kids. Pray we'll be a positive influence. At Malaumanda I hear that things are stable but growing pains for that young church continue. Barney & Tina Enns are there alone. Barney has started translating the book of Genesis and is devoting all his attention to this task. Some of the more mature men in the church have decided that they will get together to assure Sunday church times continue. Mike and Jen Measley are home in the States and just had their first child. Eric and Judith Hedeen are due to deliver their first this month. Thanks for your interest in praying and caring about our lives here in PNG. Much love from all, Jeff |
