Prayer Letter Archive

January 2005

Greetings! I hope that the New Year has started well for you and that you are finding the Lord near in these days. I was not able to get a letter off for the month of January so I wanted to get some news off to you.

Our holidays went well. In the down times we were able to get in some family time. However, after 11 weeks of good health (the longest in the last year) Grant fell ill just after the school term ended. He was sick the entire school break and now three days into the third term he has missed 2 of the 3 days. He was regaining strength and seemed ready to slowly start back into a normal routine. He went the first day back but is not doing well at this time. This is especially hard this time as basketball practice has started here at the school. Grant has been waiting for this for 11 months. Last year he got sick and missed the last few weeks of the season. I, as his Dad and coach, sure wish he'd get better quickly. As it is, he probably will need a couple of weeks to get back to full strength. Please pray. Honestly, I'm not exactly sure what to ask you to pray for. We all would certainly wish Grant to be healthy. The Lord who could have stopped the tsunami in Asia and has done many mighty things to display his power can also heal Grant if He desires to do so. Pray that Grant will continue to remain positive as he deals with this - another bout with chest/breathing problems. The Lord often uses circumstances for more than one purpose. We all desire to learn whatever the Lord has for us in this situation. Even thought it is difficult to face again. Thank you for your prayers.

We continue to be very busy with our duties here at the school. We are trying to work through many situations both present and future that are the result of extreme shortages in personnel. Pray for the Lord's provision. Though, at this time, we are limping along with our present faculty, we desperately need teachers to teach in the school for next year. The dorms also need couples who are willing to be involved in the care and education of missionary kids.

I have a long list of things I need to get done before we pack up for furlough in June. Pray for stamina, strength and wisdom for us in the tasks at hand.

I'm sure that you have much on your plate as well. Lets pray for each other to faithfully see each endeavor completed for the glory of the Lord.

Thanks so much!

Jeff
