Prayer Letter ArchiveOctober 2006In The Saddle
The adjustments have been many. Questions have been asked by the dozens. We are still learning, but are confidently in the saddle and riding well in our role here at New Tribes Bible Institute. We have 22 couples under our supervision as Deans of the Married Students. It has been a joy getting to know them and hearing the stories of how the Lord has brought them to this place. They have come from all over the USA. Some are newlyweds. Some have several children. Some have never been to school beyond high school. Some have already graduated from college and are seeking additional training that will immerse them in the Word of God. Some have walked away from lucrative careers. All are interested in missions and are eager to head in that direction. The potential for their lives to impact this generation is very encouraging. The fact that most are here specifically with the mission field in mind is exciting. We have been recharged in the challenge to prepare them for the global mission that lies ahead. We have already felt used of the Lord in this capacity and we have only just begun. We are encouraged in the task at hand. Thank you for praying with us. Your prayers have enable us to transition as smoothly as possible. Our role here is to get into the lives of the married students to where we can encourage, instruct and exhort to a higher level of commitment in Christ as well as answering questions as to what it is like from a field perspective.
