Numonohi Christian Academy Writing Contest
How has growing up in Papua New Guinea affected your life?
In what ways has Numonohi Christian Academy influenced you?
When you realize that teachers have left home and raised support to come to teach you, how does that make you feel?
We would like you to share your experiences with others. Entries to the NCA Writing Contest may be shared with the NTM MK Education Center or with New Tribes at Work Magazine.
Guidelines:
- Entries will be categorized by grade level. Students in grades K-2 need to share a few sentences or a paragraph. Students in grades 3-4 need to share at least two paragraphs, but not more than 2 pages. Students in grades 5-6 should share a 1 to 2 page response. Students in grades 7-9 and 10-12 should prepare a 400 to 500 word essay (typed and double spaced- someone else may type it for you).
- Entries will be judged by:
- the quality with which the entry answers the above questions
- the ability of the writer to make his/her response unique and personal
- the value of the response to communicate to those who have never been to Papua New Guinea or NCA.
- All those who provide a valid entry for the contest will receive a coupon for a free cookie from the Cookie Shoppe. (These can be redeemed on Fridays during break.)
- The top 5 entries from each grade category will receive certificates. The top entry in each grade category will also receive a cash prize (K20 for grades K-6, and K50 for grades 7-12).
- Entries should be headed with the writer's name, age, and grade level. Deadline for submission is 4pm, Tuesday, February 21. Submissions should placed in Mr. Eggleton's school mailbox.
